And I’m back from Quezon!
I actually got back Sunday evening, but I’ve been so exhausted that I haven’t been able to blog. Here I am now, though, because I really should get this entry down before the details of the trip get too hazy.

The weekend saw me handling the music and voice-overs for Carnaval De Patis Tesoro, a fashion show held at Villa Escudero. Don Ado Escudero threw a big party for his friends, family, contacts and other society mainstays, with the Tesoro fashion show as its centerpiece. It was a racy, striking extravaganza of revealing and experimental outfits put together by Raffy, his cousin Anton, and, of course, Patis. We had a fantastic group of 25 gorgeous models: a mixed retinue of Brazilians and Filipinos all dolled up in jaw-dropping pieces that revealed more than they covered up.

Ah, Space Academy photo documentation at last! I’ve been meaning to have behind-the-scenes shots of our Space Academy shoots for the longest time. Having a visual record of what we do that’s separate from the actual finished products is important because we can keep better track of our concept applications and our goings-on this way.
For example, ever wonder how much effort can go into one layout in terms of light preparation? Here:

That’s Gayle, posing on an improvised set that Raffy put together in less than half an hour. Jason had to work considerable lighting magic to come up with just the right look for the shot, and you can see here that he had to make use of six lights. There’s also a massive lightbox situated right behind him to fill out the shot. It’s important to have the right blend of lights of varying intensities and locations on the subject and on the set, since the play of light and shadow is an integral component of an evocative shot.

… because they do it from behind, haha.
Printed on a gamer shirt somewhere, as related to me by Luna.

I went to the launch of a new magazine called Rogue last night at the BMW Pavilion in the Fort. It’s a thick, gorgeous publication with very expensive paper stock and dynamic, contemporary presentation, obviously targeting people of significant wherewithal in posh fashion/lifestyle circles.
The launch was extravagant but classy, with a take on representing multifaceted creativity. Aside from the video screens showing footage from Rogue shoots and promotional material, different areas of the pavilion had things going on: a photo shoot, a cinema lab, a musical performance area and a wall-art section.

Since I finally found the inclination to explore an image host other than Flickr, my posts will finally have imagery to go with all the wordiness. :p Separate stuff from the material I’d put on my Flickr photostream, though, since it’ll most likely be things I’d be acquiring from elsewhere on the Net (as I did with VM and Sylar a couple of posts ago).

I’m spending my Sunday just resting at home. The past couple of days were very active for me, and it’s good to just kick back and relax after two nights of partying.
On Friday, I was able to successfully complete my business with the Department of Foreign Affairs. It’s a much nicer place now, although I don’t think it’ll ever be rid of the massive daily influx of people. I think the last time I was there was in the late ’90s, and back then it was a really testy experience. This time, it just took a little while. Better system in place, definitely.
